WHAT WE BELIEVE
WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and the authority in all matters of faith.
"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17
GOD
We believe there is one God, eternally existing and expressed in three persons-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1
JESUS
We believe Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world and the only way to God.
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit works to convict, encourage and seal the believer in a saving, eternal relationship.
"I will ask the father and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of Truth."
John 14:16
BAPTISM
In baptism we embrace our new identity in Christ by proclaiming through baptism that we are following Jesus. Essentially, we are saying, "My old life is buried in that water, I'm here to live a new life in Christ!"
"And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"
Acts 2:38
SALVATION
We believe salvation is by the grace of God, through the work of Jesus the Christ alone. People are helpless to be saved in themselves, the only hope of salvation coming through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. He paid the penalty for our sins to take on the wrath of God on our behalf.
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Acts 4:12
COMMUNION
We celebrate communion every Sunday in remembrance of our Savior’s sacrifice and obedience to His instruction.
"The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said ‘This is my body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of me.’"
I Corinthians 11:23-24
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the body of Jesus Christ, made up of people who have entrusted their life to Him and to each other. We understand the Church to be all people worldwide who have put their trust in Jesus for salvation.
"Just as each of us has one body with many members and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many, form one body and each member belongs to all the others."
Romans 12:4-5
CORE VALUES
[ WE ARE THE CHURCH ]
Jesus said the two greatest commands are to 1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and 2) Love your neighbor as yourself.
The Bible is our guidebook. The Bible, being the very word of God, is all sufficient in all aspects of faith and life. For people to grow in holiness and draw close to God, their lives will be centered around the truths found in God's word.
We are called to encourage and enable all people towards Christ-centered lives.
We, as believers, are called by God to love, serve, and care for others.
We seek unity amidst diversity. All believers are one in Christ.
We were created to give glory to God. We all worship; there is no one who doesn't worship. Whether we worship God, ourselves, our stuff or anything else in creation we will worship because we are created to worship. We worship God- the Creator of the universe- because he alone is worthy of our worship.
Prayer is an essential part of our lives as individuals, families, and the church. It is through prayer that we communicate with God and show our trust in Him as the holy and sovereign God.
We must focus on the core mission of the church, which is making disciples everywhere. This means we need to take the good news of Jesus to all people and help those who have put their trust in Jesus to continue to grow in their faith and relationship with God.
