relaunch

The Elders and Ministry staff have been in prayer and discussion about when we would consider returning to in person meetings at Snellville Christian Church. Our goal is to keep all of our church family safe and free of this virus, which means we want to be cautious with how we return to meeting together.

It is our desire to make decisions based upon recommendations that come from health experts and government authorities in order to keep our congregation safe. In addition to our commitment to continue broadcasting SCC services online, here is an outline of a three phase plan to keep you informed as to how we envision our services will look as we plan on coming back together.

  • Phase 1 of our plan is to hold outdoor, drive-in style gatherings.
  • Phase 2 will transition us back into our building with social distancing protocols implemented.
  • Phase 3 of our in person gatherings will reduce social distancing regulation to return Sunday mornings to our new normal.

We will continue to monitor the situation and be prayerful about when to transition to the next phase. Ultimately everyone will have to make a decision that is best for their family when it comes to meeting together. We will be broadcasting all of our services online for anyone to watch from home.

Drive-in Worship

As part of our first phase of bringing people back onto our campus by holding two more drive-in evenings of worship and prayer on Saturday, June 6th and Saturday, June 20th at 6 p.m. Similar to our first drive-in service, we will have a stage and loud speakers set up in the back parking lot. Everyone is welcome to drive onto our campus and stay in their vehicles for a time of worship and prayer. We will be assisting cars in parking at least one space away from any other vehicle and insist that everyone who comes stay in their vehicles.

Safety Precautions

We will continue to monitor the situation and be prayerful about when to transition to the next phase, but in the meantime we have already started preparing for in-person services by:

  • Purchasing and installing new wall mounted hand sanitizer stations around the church building.
  • Spacing out the auditorium chairs to better allow for social distancing
  • Buying individual sealed communion packets

As the church leadership works on guidelines and safe practices for reopening our building, we want to make sure we’re best serving our members. In order to do that we’d like to know how you’re feeling about returning to Sunday mornings at SCC. You can find the link to our short survey below. Your honesty is appreciated and all surveys are confidential as we try to plan wisely for the future of Snellville Christian Church. This survey will help us with our planning of what services will look like when we come back together.
