relaunch on July 26th

Our goal is to keep all of our church family safe and free of this virus, which has led us to be cautious with how we return to meeting together.

It is our desire to make decisions based upon recommendations that come from health experts and government authorities in order to keep our congregation safe. In addition to our commitment to continue broadcasting SCC services online, here is an outline of a three phase plan to keep you informed as to how we envision our services will look as we plan on coming back together.

  • Phase 1 of our plan is to hold outdoor, drive-in style gatherings.
  • Phase 2 will transition us back into our building with social distancing protocols implemented.
  • Phase 3 of our in person gatherings will reduce social distancing regulation to return Sunday mornings to our new normal.

We have finally settled on a relaunch date of Sunday, July 26th for in-person services. We are excited to finally be moving on to phase 2 of our re-entry plan and welcome people back into our building. Caution and Safety are still a large priority for us; therefore, the first weeks of us returning will have some extra safety protocols in place. Masks will be provided for anyone who doesn't have their own and social distancing will be encouraged in our lobby and auditorium.

On July 26th our nursery and preschool will be open for families with young children. We plan on using instant forehead thermometers to help ensure the safety of the kids and staff upon check-in.

Kindergarten and up will stay with their families in the auditorium for our shorter family church service. The family service will contain youth songs and children's activity packets. In coming weeks, we will slowly open up other youth group events and classes. For volunteer coordination and safety, we are taking baby steps in the process of re-opening fully.

Our weekend church services will continue to be live streamed every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. You can watch our services on Facebook or our church website. Whether you decide to join us in person or online, we are grateful for your decision to be a part of our community in whatever way works best for your family.

Safety Precautions

When we transition into phase 2 and return to in-person services at SCC we will have some new safety measures and protocols in place like:

  • Purchasing and installing new wall mounted hand sanitizer stations around the church building.
  • Spacing out the auditorium chairs to better allow for social distancing
  • Buying individual sealed communion packets
  • Purchasing forehead thermometers for the kids areas
  • Creating family cubby spaces in the auditorium for children to store their own activity packets and craft supplies

We will still be providing a live-streamed service on facebook for anyone who doesn't feel comfortable attending in person. Ultimately everyone will have to make a decision that is best for their family. We are excited to finally be coming back together and will continue to pray for the health and safety of all of our congregation as more and more individuals coming out of quarantine.
